Getting fast around in Bangkok

Today I would like to present the transportation in Bangkok because it has many options, which can help you escape the traffic, and you will be fun visiting around the city.

Amazing with Bangkok traffic jams, roads in the city are like car racing where everyone competes to reach the gold. They want to be a WINNER.

.

Firstly, you should know Bangkok is a very busy life, and traffic is terrible meanwhile you feel excited the transportations in Thailand, there are many choices to drive you to the destination.

In Bangkok, we can travel by transportations such as a bus, a boat, motorbike – car tax, tuk-tuk, Skytrain and subway.

Motorbikes and tuk-tuks

Taxi in Bangkok is not only cars but it has motorbikes and tuk-tuks, as well. Tuk-tuk is very famous, you can see it only in Bangkok. A three-wheeled bicycle has comfortable seats and a little roof, and one tuk-tuk can seat 3 – 4 people.

This tricycle is a convenient way of getting destination, whether little streets, open markets, or walking streets so it’s easy to quick in heavy traffic.

Driving styles in Bangkok is so exciting. Drivers will find quickly the way by changing lanes in the small gap between cars. And they will smile with say sorry in their eyes, then thank you.

If you want the quickest way that is a motorbike taxi, it will ride to zigzag in the traffic jams, and ride you through the alley. In this city, it has many alleys and little streets, which can be ending each other.

Motorbike taxi – riders wear an orange-short jacket, which is like the shirt team.

If your destination is short, the motorbike taxi is a good choice. It will help you on time for the meeting or appointment so it is quite a popular transportation for office work in the city.

For motorbikes and tuk-tuks, the fares are around 80-150 Baht by negotiation, which has no taximeter. If you are a tourist, drivers will charge high prices. (Sorry about that)

By the way, be watched! if you are in the car during traffic jams, do not suddenly open the door. You will attack by a bike, which runs follow behind you.

Taxis – Lovely color cars

Taxis in Thailand, cars are colorful and combined like candy as green, pink, blue, purple, brown taxis, etc. Then the colors can define the company and the kind of taxi.

For example, the yellow-green taxi is a personal private taxi. The red-blue taxi is the rental taxi.

Thai taxis have a meter, and the fare rate starts at just 35 baht, which is lovely prices to passengers from the western.

Whatever if you are a foreigner, they will charge you overprice around 500 – 1000 bath so when you get the taxi, you make sure the driver turns on the meter. And You can give them some tips if you like.

Dring the Covid-19 disaster in 2019-2021 Taxi staffs have some ideas to plant gardens on the car’s roof such as chili, basil, eggplant, scallions, etc. They want this will show to the Thai government to support and help them during this pandemic.

Bus

Thailand buses have had a long – working life service life since 1978 or 1980 until now. Currently, there are buses for hot or cold styles, which the hot bus means no air conditioner but there’s a little fan because the ticket is very cheap. For cooler bus has air conditioning and nice seats and up prices.

The bus has many colors, which depend on the destination and bus numbers.

Challenging to catch a bus that uses some skills such as jumping and running during the rush hour. Buses do not have time to park at the station, and no space for every bus so the passenger will run!

Hitchhiking Minibus

In suburbs and rural areas, there are minibusses, which is a culture full of local travel charm. It is similar to taxis in that the passengers call the minibus by hitchhiking so it does not have a bus station. Each bus will have the destination on the route.

That’s right, it is very easy, we can hitchhike everywhere.

Skytrain

Subway

These public transport networks are easy and fast ways to travel in the city. The fares are fair rates, and the ticket is quite expensive. Both have been helping passengers to hop easily from one station to another.

Unfortunately, both run only inside the city, it is not cover Bangkok. When you get on the Skytrain and the Subway that is very cold with A/C, so I would have a light jacket with me.

I understand Thailand is very hot and people love the air conditioning, I am wondering the building such as the shopping mall and movie theatres are frozen.

Boats and River Ferries

There are several kinds of boats in Bangkok such as express boats, river taxis, crossing ferries, and longtail boats. They run up and down the Chao Phraya River. In addition, ferries can be used to cross the river at various ports.

The boat can help to cross another city because the main river, Chao Phraya river, cuts across Bangkok city from east to west so traveling by boat is a fast way, too.

Thailand’s iconic boat is the Longtail boat that uses for public transportation and tourism. There are long-tail boats sightseeing on both sides of the Chao Phraya River.

For a tour with longtail boat rides, it’s an open world that is an exciting activity get a new experience. The tourist will appreciate the way of life in the community living near the river.

The long tail boat will take the tourist to the canal, which will see villagers with boats roaming the water.

There are many types of boats, new, safer, and comfortable.

Bangkok traffic jams are so bad, that waste time traveling up to 2-3 hours a day in rush hours. So people avoid getting stuck in traffic and choose the suitable way.

Whatever you chose any transportation, the important thing is to plan time and trip, avoiding the rush hours.
